Laken Anderson, M.Ed., LPC

Laken (she/her) earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. She specializes in trauma-focused therapy to help reduce the physical, emotional, and psychological impact of trauma and other life stressors. Laken is also passionate about working with anxiety, depression, social challenges, and grief, with a focus on building resilience and creating meaningful, lasting change.
Laken is a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Additionally, Laken uses a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.
Laken is under the supervision of Jennifer Waugh, P.hd., LPCC-S, LICDC.

About Laken:
Outside of being a therapist, Laken enjoys spending time with her significant other and their two cats. She loves spending time outdoors for nature walks and values the grounding and restorative benefits of being in nature. Laken’s interest in the mental health field grew from her own experiences with healing and a desire to support others in a way that feels empowering and meaningful. She has experience working in a variety of settings including community mental health nonprofit organizations, as well as her current role at HCC.
